About the artist

Nicole Wang is a portrait artist specializing in watercolor, graduated from Cendrawasih Art Institute in Visual Arts, and Simon Fraser University in Canada. Drawing and painting people's faces have always been her passion. She chose watercolor as her main medium because she likes to work with its nature. She especially loves the transparency of the colors, and the spreading ability of the medium, in creating her paintings. She enjoys painting portraits using watercolor in photorealism style, using her creativity and skills to create unique portrait paintings.

Nicole creates her Michael Jackson paintings since 2009. She has created many different paintings before, such as portraits, landscapes, flowers, fishes, and birds. She explored different media and techniques, including watercolors, oils, acrylics, and pencil sketching. She enjoys painting as a hobby. However, Michael Jackson is one of the biggest inspiration in her artistic career. It is because of his inspiration that she started to focus in painting again, as a profession.

Having chosen Michael Jackson as the subject of her paintings, Nicole did extensive research in order to capture his persona from various eras in her artworks. She wanted to capture his unique and sensitive individuality in her arts. What benefits her the most is that she truly enjoys the experience to express her thoughts and reflections of Michael Jackson in the form of her paintings.
