Rachelle's Mixed Media paintings are inspired by story books, childhood, the always imaginative Steampunk universe, an obsession with the supernatural, and a fantastically wild imagination. Rachelle has used her love of art, painting, scrapbooking, and story telling to help make my 3D canvas’ come to life. These beautiful and very meticulous paintings are each hand detailed with an assortment of genuine crystals, genuine gem-stones, sterling silver, vintage pieces, fabrics, lace, paper, silk, metal, buttons, crochet flowers, wood, glass, found objects, metal leaf, genuine vintage watch/pocket watch parts (1920\'s - 1990 including Soviet watch parts) consisting of movement gears, pins, arms, cogs, watch rubies, plates etc, vintage jewelry and trinkets purchased in Fort Langley, BC, acrylic inks and gels, and much more. Each highly detailed, elaborately designed Mixed Media piece is produced in roughly two-four weeks time with anywhere from two - four hours, or more, of additional detailing per day. Each painting is created by building multiple layers upon the canvas. Each layer must be hand painted and dried before another layer can be added. These highly detailed mixed media paintings are mesmerizing, with the beautiful amalgamation of modern and vintage embellishments.
